Dear Parents,
Parents Evening
Thank you to those of you who attended parents’ Evening last week. As usual you were all supportive of your children’s learning and the teachers hard work. My thanks especially to those of you who gave feedback on the new style report. It seems that it was a popular change.
VIP Visitors
We were visited last week by the new executive member of the council, Alan Kendall and Andrew McKay (MP). The children were a credit to us as usual. Both gentlemen were impressed with us as a school .
Look out for photos in the press.
Book week officially starts on Monday 3rd March
Preparations began last week though, with each class having a workshop with a visiting author — Derek Smith. These were very successful and really sparked the children’s interest and encouraged them to flex their creative writing muscles!
We have some exciting activities planned for this week..
Book Fair
This will take place on Thursday and Friday 3.30 pm - 4.30 in the
School Hall. Children will be able to browse books on Wednesday afternoon.
James Campbell who is doing assemblies on Friday, promotes himself as a storyteller and children’s comedian which sounds very interesting.
Friday 7th March
The children are allowed/encouraged to come into school dressed as a
Fictional character from a book... This is not an excuse to come as a favourite pop star or footballer.
The week will end with a celebration assembly.
