Finances
The school receives its funding from the Bracknell Forest Council, formerly a part of Berkshire County. The annual budget is related to the number of children on roll.
Currently the school budget amounts to around £345,000. This has to meet all expenditure apart from major structural costs associated with the building. The budget is administered by the Governors, Headteacher and Finance Office under the local Management of Schools (LMS) arrangements.
When the costs of salaries, energy and maintenance is paid for, there is little left for teaching materials, books and equipment. For this reason we are very pleased to receive donations of paper, card and other materials. We also rely on the PTA's fund raising activities for extra resources to enrich the curriculum.
First Aid
The school is well equipped to administer immediate first aid with a number of qualified staff. If the injury is to the head or warrants parents knowing, then we contact home by telephone or by letter.
In cases of more serious injury an ambulance will be called. The Headteacher reserves the right to act in "loco parentis" and authorise emergency treatment if it is not possible to contact a parent.
Friends of the school
The Friends' Association play a vital role in the life of the school. All parents are automatically members of the association, which exists to filter the aims of the school for the benefit of all children.
A number of fund raising and social events in conjunction with the Infant School are well attended and provide valuable financial support for the school. In 1998, the school was awarded the "Berkshire Home-School Partnership Award" in recognition of the quality of its work.
